It is good to be aware of the things that we do daily which bring prosperity or mediocrity in our life. Aim of this article is for you to realize the things that block you from growing your wealth. While going through the list, think about your current situation and focus on areas where you need to improve or work on. Rich and poor have completely different habits in their day to day lives. However, there are always exceptions about being rich and poor as so many things depend on life situations and circumstances. Nevertheless, let’s begin.
1. Poor people wake up later than the rich in their early years.
Poor people are often lazier than the rich in their early years. People who invest in themselves during their youth life are less likely to stay poor. If you don’t learn or educate yourself, you will realize, later in life, that you are left so far behind what the world needs from you. People who don’t focus on growth in the early days end up working harder with low success rate.
2. Poor people watch a lot of TV.
Poor people waste a lot of their time on television watching soaps, reality shows etc. TV is a big distraction. It simply hooks you to it and kills your time with useless programs. Rich people are more likely to be on TV than to watch it. You may feel TV helps you to disconnect from your problems but that’s the biggest problem. Instead of disconnecting from your problems, you should deal with them to solve them.
3. Poor people never follow their ideas.
There are certain life circumstances which you cannot change or control, like from where you are born or in which family, etc. But you can control the amount of hours you put in on your goals and ideas. Everyone has 24 hours a day and yet some people could do much more than others. Why? You know the answer. If you are really dedicated to learn and work on ideas or things that you are passionate about, success is only a matter of time.
4. Poor people blame others for their failures and misfortunes.
For any misfortune, the first thing most people do is blame someone else. Our life is in our hands. However, poor people simply don’t want to take responsibility for their own well being. There are certain circumstances that are beyond our control, which make some remain poor, but it’s your decision whether to stay on that level or to move up. Whatever it may be, you are in charge of your life.
5. Poor people don’t save money.
One of the differences between poor and rich people is that poor people don’t get ready for what comes next. Growth can happen only if you put some money on the side. If problem arises, rich will use the saved money, but poor people will use credit and so like that change their life situation for worse. On the other hand, if opportunity comes, poor people won’t have any saving to invest in. So from beginning, they have put blockage on their growth.
6. Poor people use credit cards or take loans for useless things.
How people make use of credit differentiates the mindsets of the poor and the rich. The simple way to check this is by clarifying if the credit or loan you want to take will enable you to generate more money. If it doesn’t, don’t take it.
7. Poor people spend money before they get it.
It is dangerous to spend money before you can earn it. Using borrowed money, not knowing when you will be able to return it, is putting your life down to stress and insecurity.
8. Poor people surround themselves with other poor people.
You are the sum of five people you hang out with the most. Poor people often stay among poor people. Rich people find people who will inspire them and push them further.
9. Poor people eat fast food.
Health is very important. Poor people don’t care what they eat or how healthy meal can make a huge difference. They usually don’t pay attention on their nutrition. They are ruining their bodies with lot of fat and sugar, and, therefore, they cannot perform well. If you are not healthy, all aspects about your life will be affected.
10. Poor people don’t go for regular checkup with doctor.
All of us should know the importance of health. If you do regular checkups, you will be able to discover any medical issue in early stages, save your life and also money on treatment. Poor people neglect on these kind of things.
11. Poor people are really into sports.
Sports, similar like TV, is actually an escapism from the reality. If you are not professional athlete, there is no reason for you to be into sports and to give it so much of your time. You have no impact on the outcome of the game. But most poor people still like the sports.
12. Poor people tend to have more kids and earlier in their life.
Poor people have more children than average. Rich people have few and often wait for time till their life standard improves in order to provide the right environment for their children to flourish.
13. Poor people believe others should help them to reach the top.
Nobody owes you anything. You are in charge of your life and should take care of yourself. This world is friendly to those who never give up, who keep learning and improving. If you don’t do this, you will always be part of the majority that always fail.
If you can recognize the things that you are doing from the above, think again and ask yourself whether it would be a smart decision to overcome and replace them with some other better habits.
