Virender Sehwag is the name we here a lot these days because of his witty commentary and sarcastic tweets. However, he is also one of the cricketers who has played historic innings for his fans to remember. It has been years since we have seen him playing with the national cricket team. But, if you think that he must have forgotten his cricketing strengths and skill, then you are wrong!
Recently, Shahid Afridi’s team and Sehwag’s team played a match in Switzerland on a frozen lake. Playing cricket on ice is something that’s you don’t see often and cricketers like Sehwag and Afridi made it possible. People who witnessed the match got to see the best side of Multan Ka Sultan. The match was played between 2 teams; Diamonds XI led by Sehwag and Royals XI led by Shahid Afridi. Sehwag became the first cricketer to score a 50 on ice. Without shifting his focus, the Nawab of Najafgarh scored a whopping 62 off 31 balls. The dropping temperature failed to drop the determination of the cricketer and Sehwag played the innings so well.
The cricketer gave a paisa vasool moment to the audience by hitting a boundary on the first ball delivered by Shoaib Akhtar. His score consisted of 5 sixes and 4 fours; fans couldn’t get their eyes off him.
Afridi’s team had got a target of 165 runs that they completed it swiftly in the first 15 overs itself. The stupendous performance by the cricketer made Sehwag express his joy on Twitter. Here’s what he tweeted:
Hathiyar chhode hain ,chalana nahi bhoole hain
