The world’s best-known theoretical physicist of all time, Stephen Hawking, has left the world aged 76. The writer of international bestseller ‘A Brief History of Time’ (which included the mysteries of space, time and black holes) passed away peacefully at his home in Cambridge, England, on March 14. Stephen Hawking, whose brilliant mind ranged across time and space, was paralysed by disease, but yet he continued to dedicate his life to physics and the future of humanity like no other scientist.
Professor Hawking’s insights shaped modern cosmology, inspired global audiences, warned the people about the Earth and were documented in several TV and film projects. For his global status, he was even played by Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne in The Theory of Everything, which charted his rise to fame and relationship with his first wife, Jane.
Dr Stephen even featured in the sitcom ‘The Big Bang Theory, in “The Hawking Excitation” – the 21st episode of the fifth season that aired in 2012. After learning about his demise, the cast tweeted:
In loving memory of Stephen Hawking. It was an honor to have him on The #BigBangTheory. Thank you for inspiring us and the world. pic.twitter.com/9rWoYqIToy
