Narendra Modi has often called former President Pranab Mukherjee a “father figure” but on Mukherjee’s last day as President, his heartwarming gesture won Mr. Mukherjee’s heart. Modi sent an emotional letter about his experience of working with Pranab Mukherjee. He also talked about the things he got to learn from the former President.
In the letter, Modi expressed his profound admiration for the former President much beyond that. The PM told Mukherjee he was more than moved that the two of them “were able to work together with synergy” despite different political ideologies. The letter completely touched Pranab Mukherjee’s heart. He even shared it on Twitter and expressed his happiness.

In the letter, Modi said that for the former President, “politics was simply a means to selflessly give back to society” by placing the “well being of the nation over everything else.”
The PM wrote many beautiful and inspiring things about the former President. Talking of the former President’s intellect and wisdom, he wrote,
Pranab da, our political journeys took shape in different political parties. Our ideologies, at times, have been different….Yet, such is the strength of your intellect and wisdom that we were able to work together with synergy.
Modi has always surprised us with such wonderful gestures and this was totally heart winning. We hope the former President achieves more success in his life. His journey as a President will always be remembered.
