It was humanity’s shameful death when one after another child died in Baba Raghav Das Medical College. No tragedy can be greater than the death of helpless infants. The tragedy has started a debate where some are criticizing the government and others are saying that the hospital authorities are responsible. It is being reported that the oxygen cylinder supplier stopped supplying cylinders because the government-run hospital wasn’t paying dues amounting to Rs. 70 lakh despite repeated reminders. Whereas, the government is saying that it’s the illness that has caused the deaths and not the oxygen supply.
The government or the hospital, whosoever is responsible, the main concern here is that we have lost 60 innocent infants. Thousands of posts are flooding social media and criticizing both the government and the hospital for being absolutely insensitive toward the loss of lives of the children.
In the debate of criticizing each other, people have now shifted from the major issue that is the deaths of those little children.

Deeply pained by the loss of innocent lives in #Gorakhpur . More than 50000 children have lost their lives here since encephalitis was 1/2

first reported in 1978, the year I was born. We Still haven’t figured a way to save innocent lives from a known disease. Heartbreaking !

Sehwag’s tweet received a huge backlash. It made Tweeple angry because Sehwag didn’t criticize the government of the hospital and started talking about history.
Here’s how Twitterati reacted to Sehwag’s tweet:
Dikhai nahi deta ya such dekhne ki aadat nahi hai, Poore desh ko pata hai bacche oxygen ki kami ki vajah se mare hain. Dalali band karo.

It’s not the diseases that killed these children this time. It’s the failure of the system and you know that. How hypocritic of you !
