Dr. William Harvey (not to be mistaken for the English physician) made funny maps of major European nations of the late 19th century depicting them as humans, dressed in their national costume. It was 1868 and the then European leaders became the models for their respective country’s map. The result was hilarious but, from a different outlook, establishes that anything is possible for an artist, including giving maps a human form.
