Every superhero has an alter ego. That alter ego has a very distinctive characteristic, which is what actually differentiates one superhero from another. Believe it: it is not their powers but something else that makes them what they are. In fact that quintessential characteristic alone can lucidly describe the superhero better than a page full of words. That single characteristic, when described in a perfect word, can better explain the pain of our hero or explain his origin or his trait or his profession. Sample this: Who really is Thor? I would say: The God.
