Virender Sehwag and former New Zealand captain Ross Taylor often took to social media to exchange light moments with each other. Earlier this month, Sehwag played a prank on Taylor, and referred to him as a ‘darji’, which in Hindi means ‘tailor’, a wordplay around his name.
Likewise, on Friday, Taylor took to Instagram and posed an interesting question on Sehwag seeking his help after he found his name misspelt on the board.
Taylor asked Sehwag “how else my name can be spelt” after he found his name was misspelt as ‘Taler’.
Kiwis arrived in Kanpur on Friday for the third and final ODI match, which will be played on Sunday at Green Park, against hosts India. But the former Kiwi captain was shocked to find his name misspelt in the board, and so took to Instagram to seek out Sehwag’s help in the most fun and interesting manner.
However, as usual, fans have a different take on it. Just moments after Taylor posed former India opener with the interesting question, Indian fans took to micro-blogging sites to troll the former Kiwi captain.
One even went on to name the cricketer in Hindi as Gulabkumar Darji.
