While the world keeps fast moving forward in terms of science and technology and other aspects, it seems like inequality among human beings continues to remain the same across every corner. Big gap between the rich and the poor, men and women continues to exist rampantly across the world despite efforts being made to bring change about it. Men continue to harass women, and rich continue to exploit the poor. We wonder whether we will at all improve or change in this aspect for a better and happy world for everyone.
It is not surprising that while the world keeps making efforts to change and make lives better for everyone, a shocking and disgusting incident has happened in Pakistan’s capital city of Lahore. We wonder if this is how people treat fellow human beings in that country.
A young maid, who is said to be around 13-14 years old, was made to sit in the trunk of a car, despite there was empty seat inside it, the incident of which was encountered by a family near the Packages Mall in Lahore, Pakistan.

A few miles before entering the Packages Mall, a family encountered this car who had apparently made his Maid (13-14 yrs old girl) sit in the car’s trunk. As visible in the pictures, she was balancing it with her hand, for letting the air in, but as they approached the check point, the guard saw her, and (without inquiring the driver as to why the maid was sitting in the boot when there was enough space inside the car), he laughed. That single laugh made her so embarrassed that she closed the boot completely. The car still didn’t stop and kept on moving. In a status they wrote a message for the car owner that just because you have all this wealth now doesn’t give you the right to exploit the honor of your servants/maids. Tables can turn at any time and if, God forbid there comes a time on your family, when your own daughter have to work for others to earn a few pennies, I certainly think you wouldn’t want her in your maid’s place. If you, being wealthy enough, to educate yourself and your children, in expensive schools, remain unaware of the basic civic rights then I am sorry there’s nothing that differentiates you and an illiterate person.
What is more pathetic is the guard, who, as alleged, laughed at the girl instead of asking the driver why she was made to sit in the boot when there was enough space inside the car.
As the incident circulate around on Facebook, several took to the social media and rant out their anger at the car owner, with many even went on to take a dig at the government out of the incident.
